Okay it is Sun. and I am at the shop, because I had to send out the pictures from the Nuno Felting class yesterday! WOW! The class was wonderful and everyone had such a great time. Annette Browning, of Kentucky Blue Fiber Co. did a wonderful job getting the creativity of everyone going. The materials she brought were so beautiful and inspiring that there was no way the class was not going to be a success. I have posted pictures of the hand dyed silk scarves she brought with her which are the basis for the whole project. The colors were so vibrant and beautiful it was hard to pick. Then the students had to choose from the many colors of roving. The resulting scarves were gorgeous!
You can see from the photos the proccess and the finished project-all in 4 hours of time! The class was such a success that Annette is coming back to do it again for those who missed this one (she is also working on a felted slipper class possibly to be held before christmas!). The next class is scheduled for Sat. Sept. 17 from 11-3 pm. Cost is $85.- which will include all your materials. She also will bring extra silk scarves and roving to purchase- so you can do more felting at home! Call or come in to save you space!
This Week is the BIG SUMMER SALE-as if you could forget. The Sale starts Thurs. and runs through Sun. Hours are Thurs 10am-7pm , Fri 10am-6pm, Sat 10am- 4:30 pm and Sun 10 am-4 pm! All in-stock yarns are at least 30% of with many at 40% or 50%! Daily specials will be posted on the blog! Spread the word!!
We are still taking items for our 1st ever Fiber Freedom Festival! Bag up your leftover ,unused or no longer wanted yarn, books , needles and fabric. Put your name and how much you want for what is in the bag on an index card and bring it down to the shop by July1st. We will sell it for you at our Freedom Fiber Festival on Sat July 9 from 10-1pm. Your proceeds become an in store credit! So clear out your stuff and bring it on down!
