Some of you wanted to know when the girl scout cookies arrive. I have Thin Mints, Do si dos, Samoas, and Trefoils. I do not have the amounts that I have had in the past, because Alice is no longer in scouts, so call the shop for availability. This Thursday is the next Super Bowl Scarf Knit Night. New Crochet Class
Bavarian Crochet Class. Learn to crochet these great squares that can be put together to make a pillow, shawl or blanket. This is a really unique technique. Here are photos of some of the new yarns I wrote about yesterday. First is Lang's Estio,a cotton/wool blend that knits up at 4.25 sts. to the inch. The colors are beautiful! There are many patterns in the new book Lang 102. In that same book are patterns for Exotic and Sol Degrade. I am also designing a summer top out of the Sol Degrade(a cotton color stranding ribbon ). Cruise Meeting Sat.
Sat. We will start Jane's project for the cruise. Photos are of the shawl which is worked in 2 pieces that are then put together with a 3-needle bind off for texture! The shawl takes 12 balls of mochi plus and size 9 needles. Sat. we will start with a couple mitred squares, so short straights will work. Cruise meeting and other things
The next cruise meeting for those attending (or still considering attending) will be next sat (jan 22 at 10 am): We will be starting the project that I (susan) will be teaching on the cruise. It is an easy lace shawl on size 6 needles, 24" length is fine. We will also be checking on the progress of the cruise wrap that we are all making! The meeting will last around 2 hours. The deal of the day for thurs. is a bonanza of STUFF! We will have Reynolds Playtime, Hopscotch, Sundays Best, and Washday Wool all for $3.00 a ball. Playtime and Hopscotch are worsted weight yarns in wool. sundays Best and Washday wool are both fingering weight yarns. Washday is a wool and sundays best is a cotton. deal of the day for wed dec 29 will be a double header! We will offer both the soft linen from reynolds and the team color kits also from reynolds! The soft linen will be priced at $4.00 a ball. It is a worsted weight flax/acrylic blend with 94 yarns. The team color kit will be $6.00 per kit. The kits contain 4 balls of the lite lopi from reynolds.
