Holiday Events at MAKS

On the shortest day of the year, I hope that all your wishes for the New Year are bright and fruitful.
Here are some upcoming events for the holiday season:
MAKS Annual After Christmas Sale
All yarns, excluding MAKS and Wabash Woolen Works will be offered at a discount for the sale. Using code: AFTERXMAS2021 will get you 30% off all online purchases from December 26th through January 1st. We’re offering a 25% discount on the same yarn sales in-store.
MAKS New Year Break
The store will be closed from January 1st – January 7th, but the online store will be available for any purchases you would like to make, shipping will be slightly delayed as we won’t be available to ship until towards the end of the break.
MAKS OUTREACH, Inc Puzzle Nights – 3-day event – $10.00
January 5, 6, and 7, 2022 we will be hosting puzzle nights, the one-time fee covers all three days. January 5th we will be hosting from 5:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. January 6th we will be hosting from 12:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. And January 7th we will host from 5:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. So what is puzzle night? We’ll have multiple tables with puzzles to work, and will switch tables periodically throughout the event. So come join us for a fast-paced puzzle-o-rama. Your fee covers all three days, and you are welcome to bring a snack to share, sodas and water will be provided. Friday, January 7th we will also have pizza. And all remaining fees paid for the event will be donated to OUTREACH, Inc. If you’d like to donate but don’t have time to attend, you can contact Susan at the shop for information.
OUTREACH, INC is an organization that helps homeless LGBT teens and we are proud to help them carry on their great work!
For this in-person event, all our current VAX rules will apply and it is limited to 25 people for the event. You can purchase a ticket for the event from the online shop:

MAKS LAST-MINUTE GIFT HOURS
We will be open Thursday, December 23 from 11-3 and Friday, December 24 from 11-1 for last-minute purchases and gift cards. You can also purchase gift cards through the online cart as well.

Events This Week – Still A Few Spaces Left
We have some great events this weekend. And there are still just a few spaces left. Meet and Greet with Leading Men Fiber Arts and our first Saturday Overnighter in quite a while. Call the shop to reserve your spots, we’ll close the invitation when they’re all full. Both events are $20. Friday night’s proceeds will be matched and donated to OUTREACH, Inc. and Saturday’s event includes drinks and pizza (bring a snack to share if you wish) Here are the details:
FRIDAY, DECEMBER 3RD, 2021 – LEADING MEN FIBER ARTS MEET AND GREET FUNDRAISER
Meet and greet with Steve and Andy from Leading Men Fiber Arts. Established in August 2013 they are one of our favorite things. We met them with their great products with the Roving Indiana Yarn Crawl. Then they came back again with a trunk show. Now they are coming in person for a special meet and greet fundraiser.
The cost of the event is $20.00 which will be donated to OUTREACH, Inc. The shop will match all donations. And as a bonus, all participants will get first purchase choice for the Leading Men Fiber Arts Trunk show at the shop the next day. If you can’t make it Friday but would like to participate in the OUTREACH donations, you can make a check payable to the shop with the memo of OUTREACH, INC Donation.

For the event, we are requiring proof of vaccination. If you participated in our hangtag program, that will work as well as a vaccination card if you don’t already have a hangtag.
The event is limited to the first 30 people and will run from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. on Friday, December 3rd, 2021. Call the shop today to reserve your spot!
SATURDAY, DECEMBER 4TH, 2021 – SHOP WITH LEADING MEN!
Steve and Andy will be in the shop from 10:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. with their trunk show for your purchases. We will not be adding these items to the website, so all sales will be in person for this event. So come join us and Leading Men Fiber Arts to get your fix on some amazing fiber goodies. (Christmas is coming…Christmas present ideas, anyone?)

SATURDAY, DECEMBER 4TH, 2021 – OVERNIGHTER
Yes, it’s our first overnighter in a very long time (Susan says 2 years). We’re back to hang out and work on all the projects we’re trying to get done for the holidays. From 7:00 p.m. to ??? The event is $20 and we’ll supply soda and pizza. Bring your projects and some snacks to share. Our shop vaccination rules apply, hang tag, or card required. Also, we will be limiting this event to 15 people only, so call the shop and sign up today!
