I am almost finished with ” True Friend ” shawl.  Loving this project!  It so soft!

So, my good buddy, Julie, brought me a new pattern to look at!  Thanks alot!!  So I am using Rowans Mohair Haze- 1 each of 14 colors.

I think it will not be necessary to use all 14,   but I want to see each color knit up! It is a simple stripe scarf that originally calls for each ball to be divided in half.  The first half of each ball is knit until  every color has be knit.  Then the second half of each ball is knit using all the yarn.  I am going the much easier route!  I am going to knit through the whole ball until the yarn is gone.  I am going to knit it on a size 6 needle and shooting for around 20″ wide.  More pics to follow!

DON’T FORGET THE SUMMER SALE 2.0 is this weekend.  FRIDAY, SATURDAY, AND SUNDAY!  Regular store hours!  All in store yarns will bee 20% off!  This is to make up for all the problems we have been having with the blog this summer!  

Here is the project I choose to make with the new MORA silk from Malabrigo Yarns!  It is titled ” A True Friend”

It will take 4 of the silk and 1 each of 4 colors of lace mohair.  Here are my colors.

And here are a few suggested COLORWAYS!  All are gorgeous!

Here is what I have so far!

I have to admit that my first section I knit with the suggested needle size 7, but felt it was too tight.  So, I changed to size 9 to open it up a little.  Much happier.  It is much loftier ( if that is a word) and will increase my size.  The silk is going quickly, so don’t hesitate!
There are only 2 spots left in Dru’s beginning weaving class AUGUST 1.  Don’t forget the next level class- Hounds Tooth, will be AUGUST 15 and you need to have taken the beginning weaving class to take the hounds-tooth class.

Class runs from 10 am until around 4:30, so bring a lunch or we can order out.  Fee is $40 plus materials ( $20.00). Call to get your spot!

BUS TO STITCHES MIDWEST- We still have seats for the bus to Stitches MIDWEST!  Cost is just $55.00 for the round trip ticket plus $7.00 (cash) for the entry fee (reg $10-$12). Bus will pick up at Mass Ave Knit Shop and up at Lafayette. So let us know which spot is better.  Bus leaves at 7 am sharp.
