Mark your calendar! The 2nd annual Fall Indian Summer Pitch In is scheduled for Sept 17th from 5:30 -? The Shop will provide the burgers, hotdogs and brats, you guys are responsible for the sides and the desserts. Last year worked out well, but we thought we had better try to be a little more organized this time around. So last names beginnig with:
A-M is side dishes
N-Z is desserts.
Last year we had around 40 people- I expect more this year, so plan accordingly. This was a really fun evening with door prizes given out throughout the night! We will also have some special in the shop just for you! Bring a sweater and a folding chair (if you have one-chair, I know you have a sweater or 2!)- we will be in the parking lot weather permitting. Last year, we had an impromtu fashion show of Entrelac Cardigans! Who knows what this year will bring. If you guys want we can actually have a casual show with pattern and yarn information given for the items you are wearing. What do you think? let me know.
Hey You Guys!! I have had little to no response for the Men’s Knitting Night! What’s Up? Call or e-mail me!
I have a Trunkshow (a group of items on loan) from Classic Elite in the Pirouette Yarn. This is the lace mohair I posted pictures of a couple weeks ago! The are 4-5 sweaters and a couple scarves/ shawls. Come in and look at them. You too will fall in love with the yarn and patterns!
Well I took Maggie (my daughter) back to school last wed. For the last 4 years she has been knitting Chemo Caps during the summer for the different Cancer treatment clinics in town. This year she knit 50 caps!!! What a great girl. mama is so proud!
The fall retreat has always been a time for us to knit chemo caps or scarves for the hospitals around town. This year we will be collecting caps! For every 2 caps you bring in during the retreat, you will be in a drawing for a $25 gift certificate to the shop. There will be one winner and Jane will draw on Sunday. You will not need to be present to win (though we love to have you here). **please make sure the yarn is soft**
Fall Retreat days are Oct 7, 8, and 9. Hours are Friday 12 noon-10pm, Saturday 10 am-10 pm and Sunday 10 am-4 pm. You do not have to be here the whole time, but you can if you want! cost is $25. Get your money in as soon as possible! If you are sending in a check to reserve your space- put “fall retreat” in the memo! Call the shop if you have any questions.
Do you have friends that have not yet signed up for this great blog? Tell them to get on the ball!
Have a great week-Susan
