First,  the big winner of the $100. gift basket from Classic Elite Yarns was Connie Cutcliff (sorry Laura)!.  We had around 5 of our 17 participants here for our little ice cream and ballons party!  The most popular pattern knit this year was the cable bag in the Seaside pattern book, however we had other bag patterns , shawls and sweaters knit during the competition!  It was wonderful to see all the finished pieces! They were great.  I can’t wait for next years Knit a Long!

Spaces on the second bus to Stitches Midwest are going fast!  If you are thinking about going you need to get your $60 in to the shop soon!  Cost gets you there and back.  You will give Elaine $5 when you get on the bus for your entrance into the market (the cost for entrance is usually $8).
The bus usually arrives right at 10 am Chicago time- right when the market opens! You can then walk right in with the tickets I will purchase beforehand!  Don’t forget to wear comfortable shoes and rolling bags are commonly used!  Pack a small cooler of snacks if you wish for the ride home.  The bus usually arrives at Keystone at the Crossing around 10:30 pm.  Don’t forget that the bus will stop in Lafayette, so if you have friends in that area they can board there (we just need to know beforehand).

Did I tell you that Classic Elite Yarns have arrived?  Well they have and the patterns are fabulous!  The yarns are great also!  My favorites are the Pirouette (lace mohair-shown here) and the Liberty Wool!  Both yarns come in a huge range of colors!  The Liberty Wool is a self striping machine wash wool that knits at 5 sts on a us 7 needle.  There are 2 new books for the Liberty Wool- mostly accessories.  We still have copies of last years Liberty Wool book which also has some great patterns, including a cardigan that is worked sideways.   The Pirouette is used in 2 books also- Pirouette and Panache.  Both books have faboulous patterns that are not too difficult to work, and the Pirouette has such great yardage that most of the sweaters only take 3-6 balls!  The cost for pirouette is $9.00 a ball!  Such a deal!  Can you tell I love these yarns?

3 Big Boxes from Thaki/ Stacy Charles just came in!!! I will send out more info when the boxes get opened!

Have a great day- susan
